Conrad plays “American Rage” program with the Crypt Sessions

Conrad’s recent performance in the Crypt Chapel underneath The Church of the Intercession, part of the Crypt Sessions concert series that he launched in November of 2015, was praised by numerous reviewers, including the New York Times’ Anthony Tommasini, who had the following to say:

“Performing in the crypt of the Church of the Intercession in Harlem, this fearless young pianist tore into long, flinty, pummeling works by Frederic Rzewski inspired by American protest songs. The most transfixing moment, however, came during the somber, lingering final strand of Copland’s Piano Sonata, which Mr. Tao played with bittersweet tenderness. In the sacred space this hushed passage sounded like a forlorn benediction.”
